GAWAD KALINGA PARTNERSHIP

Gawad Kalinga Community Development Foundation, Inc. (GK) is a Philippine-based movement that aims to end poverty for 5 million families, by first restoring the dignity of the poor.

Noble Trends Unbound has been a partner of GK since 2014 and the two organizations have been working close together to end poverty and enrich the spirit of caring and sharing.

BAYANI CHALLENGE

TAKING PART IN THE NATION-WIDE EFFORT TO END POVERTY

Bayani Challenge is Gawad Kalinga’s effort to fuel the Bayanihan Spirit in thousands upon thousands of barangays across the country. Since 2014, NTU has been sponsoring and supporting the event.

Community Builds

Infrastructure is the main activity in Bayani Challenge and volunteers help each other build homes for the homeless.

Greening Programs

Good habitable homes need to be sanitary. GK, NTU and partner volunteers clean the community and provide environmentally-friendly solutions.

Health Missions

Healthy communities can only work with healthy individuals. Volunteers with medical and dental backgrounds provide health missions during Bayani Challenge.

Sports Programs

As part of values formation, GK and NTU provide sports programs during Bayani Challenge to hone the skills and promote the virtues incorporated in sportsmanship.

THE HOPE BUILD

BUILDING INFRASTRUCTURE, BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS

Helping disaster victims beckoned the inner heroes of everyone at Noble Trends Unbound. It was a privilege to join this effort by helping build houses in Candon, Ilocus Sur and Tublay.

Instead of just donating, NTU mobilized its full working force to help the landslide victims of Sitio Mamuyod in Tublay, a feat which is rare in the conventional execution of corporate social responsibility. It is through this that we were able to inspire other organizations and universities to give aid and get involved.

Bridging the Gap

Students and Faculty of Brent International School mixed concrete, painted walls, dug canals and danced with volunteers from business corporations, other schools and the beneficiaries to build a new community for landslide victims of Tublay.

Nation Builders

A commitment among NTU employees to share of themselves —naturally evolves as they get to know one another while doing work together. At some point, NTU ceases to be a charity program and becomes an agent of changing thru nation building

Bayanihan

"Our time, talent and treasure is multiplied when we work with others in the spirit of Bayanihan. Together with NTU, we build hope in the ground and try to be an active part of this nation's journey out of poverty."

END HUNGER SUMMIT

CREATING REGIONAL UNITY TO FIGHT POVERTY

The summit has been initiated to create a culture of solidarity within the Cordillera Region.
NTU knows that it cannot end hunger on its own. The End Hunger Summit brings in experts from all over the country to share their stories, advocacies and methods in tackling the problem of hunger.
The purpose of the summit was to not simply make a giver-sharer setup but to foster a symbiotic society where one’s shortcomings can be compensated by another’s assets and vice-versa.

Representatives from each of C.A.R.’s provinces, as well as NGO’s, social enterprises, academic institutions, the private sector, and other potential benefactors and beneficiaries attended the summit to acquaint with one another, propose partnerships and weave a fabric of caring and sharing throughout the region.

STARTING THE SPIRIT OF SOLIDARITY IN THE NEXT GENERATION

During the End Hunger Summit, kids from Brent International School and Happy Hollow Elementary School—A testament to the culture of sharing and caring and the shared goal for equal opportunity.

Many of the young people today won’t be happy unless they buy the latest model gadgets or branded clothing. I was once like that but interaction with these kids made me realize that money and other material things do not determine whether you are rich or poor, but true wealth is finding happiness in simple things.“

“They’re amazing and very talented. They’re as good as us, it’s just that we are given a better opportunity than them. I dream that someday, they will be given as good, if not better, opportunities as was given us. “
